I really enjoyed this game. I loved the first one, but never bought the second one until now. I really enjoy the story line that goes alone with it. It really is a the game of the year.

The god of war 1 & 2 are very great actiont games.I like the pictures and the music of the game sound like a medioval movie,i tnink Kratos need more weapons.God of war,tomb raider and princes of persia are the best action/adventure games of the ps2.

I played my first God of war 3 years ago, and is one of my favorite game of all time, if not my favorite in action-slash. Kratos, our God of war and the person (God) we use, is bloody, emotionless, sexy o.o , all the bad thing put together into a living thing. I heard always saying that this one is not as original as the first one, and I always think... Who cares? isnt gameplay what are we looking for? who care about the damn story, to me God of War doesn even have a story, Kratos doesnt even talk, the only thing i heard from him is just a : Athena!. that just perfect :D , now i will classify the game into various rating so you could the determine pro and cons (the rating are out of 10):
Story: 9.5 , the story is not as good as the first one but is well done, and very entertaining the only thing I'm sure, Kratos always want revenge.
Graphics: 10, Top - class , you have to consider this is for ps2, you wont expecting something like Gow 3, Uncharted 2, MetalGS 4 to make your jaw dropping, but for this system the graphics is breathtaking one of the best-looking games for ps2.
Sound: 10, wow! sound like a orchestra for some God... very exciting, and interesting, the character talking is also good, as i said Kratos doesnt even talk...
Gameplay: 17 if it is possible, this is what makes Gow one of the best titles out there, they combine a perfect fighting system with a little no-brain puzzles and platform style to be a balanced game. the gameplay is top-class, this not as people said a smashing button game that is because they play in mortal level (easy) try in hard level, you wont be just hitting as you wish, you would have to pull out a strategy to win the fight and if your a experienced player you would be doing combos so stylish and pro that even the monster would be escaping from you. the way he torture is enemy is just amazing, cant be described with words, you have to play it by yourself. Spoiles : Dont forget a sex mini game, is really funny, they dont show anything but it is part of the game as is hidden try to look for yourself. the chick are hot :P
Lasting appeal: 9.5, the game would entertaing you for months! like 3 at least ? but for me it is limitless xD. after you beat the game you could play titan mode ( Very hard), you would be frustated if youre not a pro, it could take you month to finish it, you would even leave the game just because of this. and also there is unlockable costumes, meaning you could use these costume with special abilities (there is infinity magic, double stats, double the strenght, etc) to play a level you already have beaten, just to make thos freaking bastard monster tremble for all the frustation they have make you. how do i say this i have this game for two years and i'm still playing it, not all the time but frequently since I'm playin Gow 3, i finish the game 100% all the unlockables and all the levels.
overall: I gave this game a 9.8, i could have given this game 10, but 10 means perfect and sadly this game is not enterily perfect, well the gameplay is perfect but you know what i talking. hope you enjoy your reading, and ready to buy the enterily collection, and make yoursel a God of War !
 Too Bad I Can't Finish It... June 7, 2010

The game itself is awesome. I do think the first one is better, but anyone who enjoyed the first God of War will love this one just the same. It is a great game and is improved in several areas from the first God of War. Although I will agree with some other reviewers in that some of the puzzles get to be a bit much. I reluctantly had to check out a walkthrough for a couple of the puzzles after frustratingly going at it for an hour or more.
Ok, so why the 3 stars? Well, this game has a fatal glitch that has prevented me from completing it. Too bad too, because it is one of the titles I was most excited about playing on the PS2. I bought a new Slim PS2 from Amazon approx. 1 year ago and it doesn't struggle with any other games at all. So it's very unlikely that it's the console at fault. I bought God of War II at Wal-Mart brand new. The game runs fine without any problems, but about two-thirds of the way through it just freezes and doesn't go anymore. It happens at the Palace of the Fates, after the Auditorium of Lahkesis and just before you make it to the Garden of the Gods (I checked the walkthrough so I know that's what comes next). I enter the room which has spiked walls on either side which begin to close in and Kratos has to take out the huge mass of enemies in order to get the walls to retract and continue. Well, I can take out all the baddies and get the walls to retract and start to move on. But just as soon as I go into the exit door, the little Loading... screen pops up in the bottom-right corner and that's it. It just stays there for eternity. I've played through the whole game twice and that's as far as I get. Bummer.
