Editorial Reviews:

For far too long, the bullies of Bullworth Academy have been stealing lunch money and making life miserable for students. For far too long, you've taken a back seat as nerds were taunted and put on display. And for far too long nobody has put the bullies in their place. Finally, the time for sweet revenge is here! The Rockstar tradition of groundbreaking, original gameplay and humorous tongue-in-cheek storytelling invades an entirely new setting: the schoolyard. As a mischievous schoolboy, you'll stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the worst school around, Bullworth Academy - a corrupt and crumbling prep school with an uptight facade.

Life at the academy
The story follows Jimmy Hopkins, a teenager who's been expelled from every school he's ever attended. Left to fend for himself after his mother abandons him at Bullworth to go on her fifth honeymoon, Jimmy has a whole year at Bullworth ahead of him, working his way up the social ladder of this demented institution of supposed learning, standing up for what he thinks is right and taking on the liars, cheats and snobs who are the most popular members of the student body and faculty. If Jimmy can survive the school year and outsmart his rivals, he could rule the school.

Using the "living sandbox" game style similar to Rockstar's previous titles, players complete goals and experiment with items in the game world. A rival may dare you to drop a firecracker into a toilet or scare some sense into the kid who took your lunch money. Don't spend too much time roaming the halls, however, as you may actually be punished for skipping out on important classes. Choices you make outside of school will also impact how friends and foes in the school view you after you buy new clothes and sport a new haircut.

Mini games abound
Bullworth Academy pride themselves in rigidly sticking to the curriculum at all times, to this end consistent truancy will result in punishment. The esteemed staff of the Academy, though occasionally questionable in their recreational habits, ensure that the pupils have a firm grounding in the key academic subjects. Alongside the strict principals of loyalty, trust and ruthless ambition that are ingrained in every pupil in the academy by the principal Dr Crabblesnitch, core subjects include English, Gym, Shop Class, Photography, Art and Chemistry. Each subject comprises a series of five tests to be passed with flying colors. Of course on passing each test a due reward, in the form of gameplay features will be earned by the player. Bullworth Academy's educational system is provided through a host of exciting and innovative mini games lovingly developed by Rockstar Vancouver to accompany the main storyline of Bully.

Do a double clique
Just like any other crumbling prep school, Bullworth Academy has its cliques. You'll have to choose whether to side with football jocks, well-dressed preppies, or try to turn them against each other while you laugh at the antics with your fellow greasers. Clique membership becomes even more exciting as your clique rises to the head of the class- making a name for themselves and striking fear into the hearts of those who might cross you. Don't be surprised if some cliques offer up some surprises, as those bug-eyed nerds just may have the scientific know how to create weaponry that can keep those bullies at bay.

Ready yourself for a hilarious return to campus living with Bully, the outrageously funny debut title from Rockstar Vancouver, available exclusively for PlayStation2 computer entertainment system.

5 out of 5 stars Bully   August 16, 2010
pweeto! (Los Angeles,CA)
This game is a lot of fun. Its kind of like GTA but High School version. Its a lot of fun, definitely one of the best games I've ever played.

5 out of 5 stars A teen's review   January 24, 2010
Frodo Baggins (Louisville, KY USA)
Bully is by far the best game I have had or will ever have. I love how you are able to do basicly what ever you want. You can even choose what you want to wear from a huge selcetion of clothing. I am 15 and this game is just like actual high school. You have your groups of kids who one group hates the other and there are many, Ton's of fighting, and even have it right down to the the alchol and tabaco use. However that is not the point of the game.
You play as a shot-down 15 year old boy named Jimmy Hopkins who has had a turn for the worst with his family. He has become aggresive, hard-headed, and very bold. LIke almost every other teen out there he feels that he does not need any one, and is ready to prove it at any time.
I feel that Bully was a perfect replica of the every day average teen life at school that the parents don't know about. I thought the game had a few pros and cons.
Pros
1. the game has free roam. ( can go where ever you want, wich gives you a sense of freedom.)
2. violent but not really violent. ( you don't go around killing everyone in sight, But you can beat up any one you want, but the good thing is it is your choice to be good or bad.)
3. The game had a good length to it but could have been longer in my opinion.
4. You can do what ever you want ( skip class, beat up people, pull fire alarms, etc.)
Cons
1. not long enough. ( I beat it in olny 3 days. )
2. You can steal bike's and stuff, but I would like to steal one of those cop car, or motorcycles.
3. There was to much swearing in the game. ( It is true that at school we swear worse then that, but your parents are around you at home, and I would have liked it not to be so vulgar.
5. Not enough stealth missions.
All in all I really loved this game. And I think you should get a copy. You won't regret it.

5 out of 5 stars Best Christmas gift I am enjoying.   January 17, 2010

This game is very good. I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase of this used Bully PS2. Everyday I can't wait to get home from school to play it.

5 out of 5 stars Years later & still excellent   January 1, 2010
I bought this around when it came out & I've replayed it a few times since then.
This game is still as fun as it ever was.

I used to like GTA series (only own Vice City but played the other 2) but, I have a pretty strong conscious & I got to the point where I hated GTA b/c of the killing (yea, I know its fake but it wore on me after a couple weeks). I still keep & occasionaly play Vice City but only to hear the 80s music & to cruise around FL. I don't do any of the missions anymore or kill people. I just like the way it makes you feel like you're actually in FL and driving around its world is fun w/o the rest of the game.

This is for GTA fans that are or have gotten bothered over the killings (and don't need to drive cars. They have bikes in this game). The missions are like GTA & the fights are better b/c you can actually lock onto your opponents.

This game also has holidays (halloween, Christmas),seasons (all of them) and time of day (day & night applied to a sped up 24 hr clock).

You can do pranks & mess with authority if you want & you can fight all you want.
There are lots of side missions & bike races to participate in.

Very fun game & replayability fun factor is high.

5 out of 5 stars GTA in the school yard!   November 16, 2009
J. R. Goleno (Camarillo, CA USA)
Being a fan of the mindless violence and always questionable storyline of the GTA series, I had to pick up this game when I was browsing Amazon late one night. So much fun! If you're looking for something to kill time beating up people, it is definitely a little tougher than GTA because in this, on top of the story line, you have to go to class! Plus the farther you go in the game, the more you can unlock and the more fun you can really have. I'm only about 20% through the game and I've loved all of it so far! Definitely recommended for anybody with a sense of humor and a strict upbringing.
