A Simpler, Quicker and Deeper Madden
Madden NFL 11 redefines the way you experience the game of football. Simpler: from 350 plays down to 1, the all-new GameFlow system puts you in the helmet of an NFL quarterback, to execute an authentic, situational game plan, one play at a time. Quicker: with 60-minute game times reduced to 30, spend more time on the field and less in the playbook. Same drama, half the time. Deeper: Madden NFL 11 is feature-rich, with improved animations and control options, enhanced online functionality, and new broadcast and audio presentation that delivers the NFL experience fans have come to expect.

Key Game Features

  • From 350 Plays Down to 1 – The all-new GameFlow playcall system puts you inside the helmet of an NFL quarterback like never before, allowing you to execute authentic NFL game plans one play at a time. Add a new level of strategy by customizing your own offensive and defensive game plans, or have plays based on your favorite team’s real-life tendencies called for you.
  • Play Games in Half the Time – With an all-new playcall system, spend less time in the huddle and more time on the field as you experience the drama and excitement of a full game in less than 30 minutes.
  • Don’t Just Play, Feel It – All-new Dual Stick Control drastically reduces button dependency for the ball carrier by mapping key moves to the right and left sticks. Run through holes, break tackles, and explode in the open field with a more fluid, intuitive, and responsive running system. All-new locomotion provides true acceleration and deceleration, plus natural planting and cutting, while delivering the authentic-feeling Madden NFL to date.
  • Play, Learn, Win – Rookies can enjoy success quicker than ever before. New Coaching Tips automatically pause the game at critical points to help explain each situation as it unfolds. A revamped playcall system draws player routes on the field as in-game coach’s audio provides helpful hints to better execute the play.
  • Redefining Madden NFL Online – Last year we gave you Online Franchise and Online Co-op, now Madden NFL 11 delivers an all-new game mode that will change the online experience yet again.
  • See It. Hear It. Feel It. – Experience a new level of excitement with revamped audio presentation. From the booth to the field, Madden NFL 11 brings gameday to your living room like never before.

1 out of 5 stars 1 Year After Madden 10... how much work was really done since then?!?   September 9, 2010
Scraggletag (Texas, USA)
I have been playing football since Touchdown Football on my IBM PC jr. I've seen and experienced how football games have evolved through the years. One thing is for certain, the evolution has slowed down right after EA acquired exclusivity rights to NFL related Video Games on consoles. And for some reason, this year's Madden is worse than the previous year (Madden 10). One would think that the developers of the game will be able to fix bugs and glitches that were present in previous versions. And maybe add new interesting features to the game as well. This is not the case for Madden 11.
A new video game costs $60. Some games are developed for years before coming out. Madden releases a new version every year and it still costs $60. I believe it is only natural that people, who play the game, expect something better year after year.

2 out of 5 stars Madden Takes Big Steps Backwards   September 9, 2010

I loved Madden 10, it was the biggest leap forward EA had taken with the franchise since they came to PS3 and 360. However Madden 11 is the complete opposite.

Franchise mode has been stripped down to nothing more than playing games and signing players. Gone are the pregame warmups and training to increase your player stats. The news section is very generic and looking at stats is somewhat painful compared to years past.

The new Gameflow feels useless if you have been playing Madden for years. This is EA's attempt to get more casual gamers, even though Madden is already a pretty casual series. Half of the fun of the game is picking your plays yourself, and it feels like time should have been put into other areas of the game instead of wasted on Gameflow.

The presnap adjustments were changed to the d-pad. I can't figure out why. It didn't simplify anything and just aggravated hardcore Madden players that were used to the old system. It's like EA changed it just to say they changed something, because I see no reason this was renovated at all.

Now Madden does have better graphics. The presentation is still solid. The new commentary from Gus is welcome, however you still have to listen to Chris Colinsworth, who in many cases uses some of the same old lines you heard all during Madden 10.

Overall I'm too big of an online Madden player to pass this game, but it took all of the momentum the series had going from last year away and is pretty disappointing.

1 out of 5 stars If It's in the Game......Well its not!!!!!!!!!!!!   September 9, 2010

I've been trying to like Madden for the past 3yrs now.... EA is the only company that can give us NFL/Gamers our football fix.... EA has realized a LONG TIME AGO that they can serve trash and that idiots like us will still flock to it...

The only thing I can say is good about Madden is losing the Sprint (Turbo) button. The defense gets no love in Madden, for instance take a tiny running back like Darren Sproles of the Chargers...
I can understand a very elusive Running Back like him juking defenders in the open field... But in Madden they give even the tiniest guy SUPER Strenght to just push these BIG 300 Plus Pound Defensive tackles to the ground as if they were Kindergardeners... WHat im saying is, in Madden the Offensive player will 9times out of 10 win over the defensive guy on the initial one on one contact...
I was playing a exhibition game vs the Buffalo Bills (I was playing with the 49ers).. And CJ Spiller (rookie RB with the Bills) has the ball and running toward my player, Line Backer Patrick Willis (Probably one of the top 3 line backers in the NFL today)... Both I and the cpu controlled Spiller are running at each other full speed... CJ spiller must of turned into the HULK because he just BOWLED right through Patrick Willis as if he were a rag doll...

And dont' get me started on players still running full speed out of bound on sideline passes..... Yes they still do this in Madden........................

And how come when you think your in perfect position for a interception, your defender just bats the ball down with one hand? WFT

Madden is JUST PLAIN GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a good thing that there is a much better alternate in the BasketBall Games Space... Because NBA live is just the worst...

HE EA!!! All WE WANT IS PURE AUTHENIC SIMULATED SPORTS!!!!! NO EXTRA GARBAGE.... LOOK AT WHAT 2K HAS DONE FOR PURE AUTHENIC SIM BASKESTBALL....

4 out of 5 stars Best Madden Since 05   September 9, 2010
Anthony Altieri
I think this year's Madden is very disliked and its for one main reason, its because EA actually took some intiative and redirected the Title in a new direction. The Problem is, is that it really depends on whether you were a fan of the past 5 Maddens or not because if you weren't then you will definitely love this game over past titles. If you were however a fan of the others, You will have mixed feelings on this game. Now that thats out of the way lets talk about some of the new features and and the improvements. One of the biggest improvements in the game was the new engine which showcases an all new running style (if you play with Peterson from the Vikings you probably notice this feature more over any other running back) which displays real life running momentum. If the Guy is a bruiser in real life than most likely in the game he'll always fall forward for a good couple of yards. Another improvement is the AI. The AI is much tougher this year and it acts like its real life counterparts. If the Quarterback is a Field Genius (Peyton Manning) you'll notice constant play changing and shifts that counter your play. The all new animations look great as well, though the graphics to take step down but overall they look good. The only problems I've encountered so far is a little bit of slowdown every once in a while and some minor Announcer Glitches. Speaking of Announcers for the game they sound GREAT! Everything related to Presentation has been near perfected and it actually gives you a feeling of being at the game. To leave you off with "buy this game" would be wrong, but I do recommend renting it as it is a completely new Madden and it might or might not be for you.
