Product Description Battlefield: Bad Company 2 redefines the modern FPS. It has an engaging single-player campaign, but the online experience is where it really shines. Some warfare simulation games focus only on gunplay. Bad Company 2, on the other hand, doens't limit your tactics. Use vehicles, different kits, different classes, teamwork, strategy, and different weapons in a fully-destructible environment to lead your team to victory!
Amazon.com Product Description
| Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a first-person shooter, and sequel to Electronic Arts' 2008 release, Battlefield Bad Company. Following the continuing combat adventures of misfits of the US Army's Company "B," Bad Company 2 features the characteristic humor and grit of the Bad Company series, as well as a variety of gameplay improvements and additions, including 2-24 player online support; all-new four man squad gameplay; and more. Story and Gameplay Like the original Battlefield: Bad Company game, Bad Company 2 is a first-person shooter following the exploits of Company "B" of the US Army's 222nd Battalion. In this new adventure, the more mature yet still infamous company of misfits are tasked with interceding in a series of conflicts that have the potential to ignite of a new World War. Game environments cover snowy mountains, all the way to jungles and deserts. Classic military combat gameplay. View larger. | New destructive abilities. View larger. | Ultimate online vehicle warfare. View larger. | New squad-based play options. View larger. | As the action begins players have their pick of four distinct character classes, and weapons, gadgets and specializations. Within these, players have over 15,000 kit variations to discover, and will be able to fine-tune their preferred fighting style to give them the edge in combat that they will need to survive and prevail. In addition, new vehicles like the all terrain vehicle (ATV) and the UH-60 transport helicopter allow for new tactics, which players are free to choose from. As players fight through mission play they will level up their playable character through the ranks as they accumulate experience points in combat for enemies eliminated and objectives completed. Excellence in the battlefield is rewarded with an extensive range of pins, insignias and stars to unlock along with 50 dedicated ranks to achieve. Battlefield 2 also features a major multiplayer component. Along with standard 24-player online multiplayer options across eight maps, players can also compete in 4-player teams in 2 exclusive squad-only game modes, fighting together to unlock exclusive team awards and achievements. During these online battles players can spawn on your squad to get straight into the action, and use gadgets such as the tracer dart in-conjunction with the RPG to devastating effect. Taken together these features make for one of the most realistic ground/vehicle combat experiences ever. The New Frostbite Engine Tactical destruction in Bad Company 2 is taken to new heights with the updated DICE 'Frostbite' engine. Unlike in the first game in the series, which featured considerable, but limited destructible game environments, in Battlefield Bad Company 2 players can now take down entire buildings or create their own vantage points by blasting holes through cover, thereby delivering a unique dynamic experience in every match. battlefield bad company 2 July 26, 2010 jake dalby
i was sceptical about buying this game over modern warfare 2, but i conducted extensive research and concluded that this is the game that i wanted. Now ive plaed mw2 online and single player capaign, and i must say mw2 has bc2 beat in the campaign department. its just more involving and i seemed to care more about the events that happened in the mw2 campaign. now bc2 campaign is a vast improvement from previous battlefield titles, and and i enjoyed it alot but theres something still missing. bc2 also has a little humor, which at times can really make you laugh but takes a way from the seriousness of the capaign overall.
now the multiplayer. now capaign is important, but alot of people buy a game for online multiplayer. Now , this is were battlefield shines.this is the most addicting and fun multiplayer i have EVER played. yes i will come out and say that it is better the mw2. in mw2 you can run and gun very unrealistically, but in battlefield you have to conduct planed and thought out assults. winning a battle in bc2 is so much more satisfying because you actually had to use your brain to win.
Bc2 is also so much more challenging. in mw2 you can be good in 5 min, but in bc2 youll go the punishment until your about a level 15. teamwork is NEEDED to win in bc2. pleas trust me, this multiplayer is SOOOOO FUN. if you buy mw2 youll regret it in the long run. now dont get me wrong , mw2 is an incredible game, but its got alot of hype, and i still recomend getting it, but if you want a game that will last you longer get bc2.
Now remember bc2 is a team based game unlike modern warfare 2 were you are on your own, so if you dont have many friends to play with mw2 might be the better choice, but when i first started out , i had only a handfull of friends , but you will make friends so its your choice. i will also add that in bc2 gravity effects your bullets so take that into account when playing thee recon class.
So this game is a great game with a good singleplayer and OUTSTANDING multiplayer.so go out there regardless ofwhat your mw2 fanboy friends tell you and buy this game. P.S. [i am not a fanboy i love the call of duty series]
AWESOME MULTIPLAYER :) July 20, 2010 buyer2 I really enjoyed the multiplayer in Bad company 2! I didn't really care for the story althogh some of the levels where very entertaining.
Fun but bad service July 10, 2010 romancandles 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
When i first got this game i went directly online. i played my first game for 5 minutes and then it came up with a connection error. every game after that i got the connection error :( all my other games work fine except this game. i read other reviews that the single player constantly freezes and crashes and that other people cant even join games online. i finally got my online connection to work with the game. the game is fun online but it gets really bad lag sometimes you may have to leave the game cause you wont be able to kill anyone. i would recommend that you rent this games first before you buy because it can become a waste of $55 bucks. its just a fact that EA has bad servers. All of there games are bad and laggy. I know that i wont buy another EA/DICE game ever again now that i've experienced this...Hope this has help people make a decision weather to buy this game and take the risk.
bad game!` July 5, 2010 Christian Mosqueda (usa) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
first of all, when this game came out, i was ready to play it nonstop. but i cant do that because i constantly lag and its just not fun when you shoot somebody and just wont die! the game is good but theres not enough support from the developers to justify buying it! this is the last game i will ever buy from EA again.
its not my connection. im usually the host IN EVERY OTHER GAME SUCH AS CALL OF DUTY> MGS4. wait for this game to go down to like $20..
ps. iam willing to trade the game if anybody wants it. i will take bioshock 2 or any other game, i just want to get my moneys worth and i cant do that with this game.
